Title: Izaiah Writer/Director: Keagan Anfuso Happiness is when illusion touches reality and takes form in front of your eyes. Synopsis: Jarvis is a psychiatrist who believes he has heard it all. To say he is meticulous is an understatement. He lives among his alphabetized bookshelves, his organized desk, his textbook definitions, and his prescriptions for happiness. Jarvis has come to a point where he is convinced that life is simply nothing more than finding ways to swallow your problems and cope. This seems to be working out just fine until he meets Hope and is introduced to the consummate world that her and her brother Izaiah have built together. Hope begins to bring the color back into Jarvis? black and white world by reminding him that we all have our own versions of happiness. Characters: Jarvis: Middle-aged man set in his ways. He "helps" people for a living but never really looks inside them. His job is a task. People are a task. The things people experience are how life works. He thinks in black and white terms. He sees life as a series of negative things to be dealt with. He has the typical outlook that bad experiences are necessary in order to grow as a person. He is meticulous, he is specific, and he is disconnected. Izaiah: Attractive. Small framed. Messy short hair. Slightly scruffed hair. Light eyes. Everything about him is calming. Has an intelligent and empathetic voice. The kind of person who speaks to you like he loves you even if he has never met you. Hope: Thin. Dark Hair. PIercing bright eyes. A plainly pretty face. Confident presence. Challenging tone. She is blunt when she speaks. She has an intense presence and speaks intelligently. She has a brilliant way of twisting words and remove sugar coating. She becomes defensive when what she cares about is questioned. She rarely makes eye contact but when she does she looks right into you. Small parts/One line only: Patient #1: Jessica Marcum Attractive. Young. Emotional. Dramatic. She is entirely wrapped up in the concept that happiness is only achieved through having a relationship. Heavily focused on finding "the one" for her. She explains her emotions through rants. Represents believing that happiness is only found through having a significant other. Patient #2: Mark McMullen Very tall and small framed guy. Bright eyes and dark messy hair. Always has to be moving and can't sit still. He requires constant stimuli. He believes his personality traits will stop him from achieving a good relationship and a good job. He thinks he needs to change himself to be accepted and successful. Represents thinking you have to change your personality traits to find a place in life. Patient #3: Christopher Dale Tall. Tan skin. Scruffy face. Hates his job and feels that he spends every day of his life doing things he doesn't care about. He thinks his life is without purpose and it causes him extreme anxiety and stress. Represents hating what you do with your life every day, but feeling like you can't change it. jacksonville fl florida
