Memory Care Activity Coordinator Job Opening in Fort Worth, Texas - Minimum of 2 years experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, 1 year of which was full-time in an activities program in a healthcare setting providing activities for the elderly with Alzheimer's or Dementia. Must possess effective written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
The full-time activity coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the Activity Program for up to 20 residents. Plans, implements, and evaluates the program on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of all residents. Responsible for building and posting monthly and daily activity calendars containing a balanced mixture of activities addressing cognitive, recreational, social, and ADL needs. Guides activities to be tailored to the residents unique requirements and skills to ensure meaningful engagement. The Activity Coordinator is responsible for ongoing communications with residents and their family members
This position requires a great deal of creativity and flexibility. Outgoing, vibrant personality is a must.
The activity coordinator must be able to provide direct resident care and supervision as well as provide assistance in other departments where there may be a need. Some weekends and Holidays are required, as well as planning and attending Family Night events one evening per month or every other month.
It is preferred that candidates come to the facility to fill out an application on-site.
