Founded in 2004 as a division of Interplex Industries?Interplex Medical's focus is 100% dedicated to the design, development, and manufacture of next generation medical devices for OEM?s and start-ups. We maintain ISO 13485 certification and FDA registration in Design Control and as a contract manufacturer. Interplex Medical partners with our clients at the earliest stages of the product development process?including research in a clinical setting?to develop the product input document for our client?s medical device.
Medical Business Unit Sales Manager
The Medical Business Unit Sales Manager is a key management position reporting to the General Manager of Interplex Medical whose mission is to drive profitable revenue growth on customer specific product services and manufactured products. This will be accomplished by uncovering new opportunities in targeted medical and surgical device companies.
Responsibilities include:
Driving growth and managing sales and marketing activities at new targeted accounts.
Managing sales representatives where appropriate and directing their activities in an effort to service existing and penetrate new accounts.
Developing a suitable Sales Plan and monitoring its effectiveness.
Developing a marketing plan to effectively communicate and demonstrate the capabilities of Interplex Medical.
Consistently meet our sales growth goals for Interplex Medical. Work on developing and implementing a targeted sales plan for the above operations as part of this effort.
Identify potential opportunities to add new capabilities in servicing the medical market. Recommend strategies and tactics to enter new areas such as start-ups, joint ventures and acquisitions.
Maintain close working relationships with key senior level managers, engineering and purchasing personnel within existing and new target accounts
Uncover new product opportunities at existing and target accounts and champions them within Interplex Medical.
Create capability presentations to targeted OEMs in an effort to generate new product opportunities
Follow-up on leads with a possible result of new product opportunities
Work new large opportunities by interfacing with all important levels at the customer (Corporate engineering, purchasing) as required
Prepare specific high profile sales quote presentation packages on large OEM programs
Develop specific sales tactics to win big opportunities
Call on new, existing or target customers 60-80% of the time
Visit key customers periodically to access service being rendered and overall satisfaction
Participate in developing the annual Sales Plan and monitoring its effectiveness
Reports weekly on activities using the standardized tracking forms per the Sales Plan
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
7+ years experience in outside sales and marketing in the medical and surgical industry sectors
Strong customer relations and business development experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiar with the key outsourcing Company?s within the industry sectors
Knowledgeable of emerging technologies and companies
Familiarity with the industry?s technical terms and language of medicine
University degree
Ability to grasp, discuss and convey technical concepts
High degree of creativity to visualize and propose solutions to customer?s technical or product-related problems is desired
Ability to render technical concepts via simple (napkin) sketches is desired
Record of past accomplishments in medical industry sales and sales management
Computer skills include fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Ability to negotiate letters of intent, deal documents, agreements and contracts
Comfortable in presenting to large groups including customers and suppliers
Outward, open, positive, energetic and tenacious sales personality
Self-starter able to operate independently within broad guidelines and little day-to-day direct supervision
Strong leadership skills
