Sr. Software Developer Job Opening in Austin, Texas - JSI Logistics, Inc. a global leader in logistics and test services for the semiconductor/tech industry is seeking a qualified individual to lead and build a team to support its software development efforts for customer facing projects. This position is based in Austin TX and reports into the VP of IT who is based in Silicon Valley. This position provides customer solutions by analyzing, designing, developing, testing/QA software that are on time and are delivered to the customer with the highest level of quality. Likely travel within US and Asia.
Essential Functions
Work directly with with customers (internal and external) to determine product specs and requirements.
Work with development team to refine and fulfill requirements and create documentation.
Work with end users to perform UAT.
Some hands on software development will be required.
Exercise independent judgment and discretion in overall project management by prioritizing, planning and tracking project progress.
Research product development options and provides analysis for product direction.
Consult with customer to identify customer needs and include into project objectives.
Evaluates employee performance, sets expectations and goals for department and individual staff members, recruits, disciplines and trains staff.

Required Education and Experience
At least five years of experience developing business software including some in a role.
S. in computer science, information systems or equivalent experience.
