Client Eligibility Specialist Job Opening in Ankeny, Iowa - Purfoods LLC, also known as Mom's Meals community based services program provides fresh-made, home-delivered meals to the elderly, disabled, and individuals in poor health. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following duties. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Create and submit eligibility inquiry files monthly.
Review, research and update client accounts for any eligibility inquiries that returns failed responses from payers.
Create status reports regarding failed eligibility inquires for intake and billing teams.
Assist Director of Revenue Cycle Management in conducting monthly audits of client accounts, in accordance with state Medicaid and CMS regulations.
Review quality assurance of all referrals and/or updated clients from assigned state or local agencies/payers.
relationships with assigned state and/or local agencies to secure correct eligibility information.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Revenue Cycle Management on an ad-hoc basis.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Prefer AA or BA or current pursuit of AA or BA degree in healthcare administration, medical administrative assistance, or healthcare finance.
Experience:
5+ years of work-related experience in healthcare related field, ie, healthcare billing of institutional and/or professional claims, patient registration, and/or patient access.
Intermediate Excel skills necessary.
Previous experience with eligibility inquiry software, such as electronic 270 files, Zirmed, or secure payer web portals a plus.
Previous experience with reviewing/auditing of healthcare records (billing and prior authorizations) a plus.
NAHAM and/or AAHAM certification a plus.
Required Job Qualifications:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent healthcare accounts receivable and patient registration experience.
Strong ability to multi-task, set priorities, and pays close attention to detail.
Strong ability to work with team members across multiple departments.
Ability to work unsupervised with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Physical, mental and environmental requirements:
Must be able to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) ,* read, hear and process detailed information *. Must have good visual perception to read computer screen and differentiate between multiple product items.
