Licensed Practical Nurse (3-11) Job Opening in Quakertown, Pennsylvania - 1. Work to achieve and maintain continuity of resident care by assisting in planning and exchanging information with other health professionals, as well as family members.
2. Provide physical and emotional support to the residents.
3. Observe and report significant changes in resident condition.
4. Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
5. Assist Physician and RN in performing specialized procedures.
6. Document changes in condition, physician visits, and provide a monthly summary of resident activities.
7. Respond to emergency situations competently and calmly; exercise appropriate judgment.
8. Provide direct supervision to the nurse aides and assist in planning and coordinating quality care.
9. Integrate care with other services and assist with recreation and socialization programs.
10. Assure resident safety.
11. Provide general individual resident care and treatments.
12. Check and store medications when the medication order is received.
13. Complete Incident/Accident Reports as necessary.
14. Develop and maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel to meet the needs of the residents.
15. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, calm and positivity.
16. Inspect resident rooms, nurses? station, and the facility common areas for cleanliness.
17. Attend or conduct in-service programs and staff meetings when scheduled.
18. Make hourly resident rounds.
19. Measure and record temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight and height as necessary.
20. Answer resident call lights promptly.
21. Provide an encouraging environment to promote reality orientation and self-help abilities.
22. Handle and move residents.
23. Lift and carry supplies.
24. Schedule CNA work assignments and assist in determining staffing levels.
25. Perform annual staff evaluations; provide employee discipline when appropriate.
26. Be responsible for accountability of nursing and office supplies; record changes in ORBITS binder.
27. Prepare and pass medications accurately and timely.
28. Makes sure that bar code stickers are properly placed for recording resident use of nursing/medical supplies.
29. Practices safe working habits.
