Land Mobile Radio Technician Job Opening in Algona, Iowa - INDEED HIRE is partnering with Electronic Specialties;

With over 55 years in business in north central Iowa, Electronic Specialties, Inc. sells and services two-way radios, mobile data systems, automatic vehicle location, point to point and point to multi-point wireless communications networks, business telephone systems, communication dispatch consoles, video surveillance systems, and door access access systems. Our main focus is with-in a 100 mile radius of Algona, but have customers across the state of Iowa and southern Minnesota. Our main markets are public safety, healthcare, and agriculture.
We currently have an opening for a land mobile radio installation and service technician.
Qualifications For Installation and Service Technician:
Must be insurable to drive company vehicles.
Computer literate - able to use Excel, Word, Outlook.
Be able to effectively communicate orally (in person and over the telephone) and in writing (using electronic devices and handwritten) with other employees and organizational contacts in English.
Ability to collaborate with other technicians.
Personal interest in electronics, computers, and/or radio communications.
Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
Ability to climb up ladders and work on roofs safely.
Schematic reading and board level soldering.
Familiar with basic telecom tools.
Familiar with power tools.
Proficient in the use digital multi-meter.
GROL preferred, but not required.
Two years of electronics school preferred, but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities For Installation and Service Technician:
Demonstrate sound time-management skills by effectively and efficiently organizing, prioritizing, and completing multiple assignments in a timely manner.
Present a professional image in dress, language and action at all times promoting trust and confidence in the team and the organization.

Meet with clients to establish requirements.
Effectively provide training to end users.
Document work performed.
Land mobile radio installation.
Land mobile radio programming, maintenance, and service.
Assist with public safety radio console installation and maintenance.
Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, and fiber optic patch panes, and other associated hardware.
Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
Oversee the maintenance of all aspects of the main warehouse and offices along with ten tower sites across north central Iowa.
Managing grounds and promoting the aesthetic quality of company tower sites.
