Claims Specialist Job Opening in Ankeny, Iowa - Position Overview Purfoods LLC, also known as Mom's Meals community based services program provides fresh-made, home-delivered meals to the elderly, disabled, and individuals in poor health. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following duties. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Create and review claim rejection reports monthly
Process corrections necessary in client database.
Create status reports regarding claim rejections for interdepartmental distribution.
Ensure clear and concise communication with agency case managers.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Manager on an ad-hoc basis.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Prefer AA or current pursuit of AA degree in medical administrative assistance or healthcare finance.
Experience:
2+ years of work-related experience in healthcare related field, ie, healthcare billing of institutional and/or professional claims, patient registration, and/or patient access.
Intermediate Excel skills necessary.
Previous experience with claims editing software, such as electronic 835 files, Zirmed, and/or secure payer web portals a plus.
NAHAM and/or AAHAM certification a plus.
Required Job Qualifications:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent healthcare accounts receivable and/or patient registration experience.
Strong ability to multi-task and pays close attention to detail.
Strong ability to work with team members across multiple departments.
Ability to work unsupervised with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Physical, mental and environmental requirements:
Must be able to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) ,* read, hear and process detailed information *. Must have good visual perception to read computer screen and differentiate between multiple product items.
