Sales and Development Officer Job Opening in Portsmouth, New hampshire - Job Description :
The sales and development officer for Discover New England has hands-on involvement in the planning and implementation of both short and long range marketing and product development programs pertaining to the various international markets. This person assists in overseeing communications, press releases, content development for digital and print, tradeshows, familiarization tours, & joint marketing initiatives. Keeps lines of communication open with contractors on issues and assists in monitoring performance. Develops business relationships with the designated state office representatives as well as the tourism industry throughout New England. Increases members to DNE?s Partner Program. Reports to the Executive Director.
Pre Requisites :
Bachelor?s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Tourism or Business preferred, and/or with a minimum of three years related experience in the tourism industry, preferably related to international tourism
Knowledge of current best practices in the area of sales, market research, and international tourism industry product development
Excellent writing skills
Ability to monitor and communicate with contractors.
Good public speaking and presenting skills.
Demonstrates ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously, and to work well under pressure.
Requires self-direction, discipline, tact, diplomacy, a high energy level, and a clear, courteous and professional manner.
Sufficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Responsibilities :
Assists in overseeing and managing international vendors.
Assists in coordinating the RFP process for the various international markets.
Coordinates, solicits and attends trade shows and leads sales missions.
Assists DNE staff with the coordination of the Summit, including recruitment and logistics of international buyers to the Summit.
Responsible for daily marketing programs such as FAMs, joint marketing activities, Brand USA initiatives, press releases, quarterly newsletters, & brochure distribution.
Assists in monitoring vendor reports and provides insights to Director on the general strategic direction for DNE in these markets.
Presents on behalf of DNE regarding the various international markets.
Escorts FAM tours when appropriate.
Sells the DNE partner program.
Assists with general office duties.
Other duties as assigned.
