Senior Accounting Specialist Job Opening in Lake Placid, Florida - Job Descriptions:
The Senior Accounting Specialist will work as an integral part of the Accounting team with the critical tasks of operational support, routine and ad-hoc reporting, and department-wide assistance. The scope of this role includes a wide variety of reporting, analysis, accounting and budgetary support.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities, not limited to:
Supervisory Duties

Plan, coordinate, and execute strategies and tactics as defined by the Accounting Manager through efficient and effective use of subordinates.
Drive production through workload management, and by creating team synergy.
Minimizes barriers to role execution of subordinates.
Monitors and manages subordinate timecards, PTO requests, FMLA and other leave requests.
Routinely coaches, and provides feedback to subordinates on work-related issues.
Counsels and documents subordinate disciplinary actions, as defined by Human Resources.
Routinely communicates project statuses and concerns to the Accounting Manager.
Inspects subordinate work product and practices for quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Accounting Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Supervise and support the internal and external positions that reconcile the accounts payable invoices to the purchasing receivers
Classifies and prepares general ledger and sub-ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts.
Prepare checks, reconcile account statements, reports and other records, and review for accuracy
Review banking activity as well as fraud detection responsibilities, and take appropriate action, as necessary
Review supplier statements including credit cards, insurances, research discrepancies, investigate overages/shortages and book correcting sub-ledger and general ledger entries.
Monitors credit card and PayPal accounts for disputes and chargebacks, and appropriately responds within mandated timeframe
Actively participates in special projects and ad-hoc report requests related to sales, purchasing, working capital, operating expenses and other general leger activities, as determined by manager
Researches, compiles, and analyzes data to provide analysis and/or reporting to internal and external clients, as determined by the Accounting Manager
Maintains confidentiality, as appropriate, with regard to accounting, financial, or employee information

Required Experience:
Required :
Bachelors? degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a nationally accredited school (or equivalent experience at two year experience equals one year of college)
Demonstrated ability to use MS Excel at an intermediate level (efficiently and effectively perform basic mathematical calculations, create and modify lookup functions, create and modify pivot tables, etc)
Proven ability to make decisions that are aligned with Company and Departmental policy
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and appropriately prioritize 3-4 significant projects, simultaneously, with minimal errors, omissions, or inaccuracies
Ability to effectively and efficiently operate within a team, and as an individual contributor
Ability to interact effectively with all levels and departments in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
3-5 years? experience using an ERP system
Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze data and effectively communicate information to employees at all levels that is concise, accurate, and appropriate to receiving party, through email, telephone, text, and in-person
