SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Summary:
This position will be responsible for general accounting operations for various real estate funds for Bourne Financial Group, LLC. This includes general ledger accounting and reconciliations, obtaining and reviewing outside operator monthly financial statements and uploading in our general ledger. Responsibilities also include coding and reviewing accounts payable and receivable transactions, month-end close procedures, and other general accounting duties for multiple funds with multi-tiered organizational structures. The ideal candidate will be have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures and strong analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
General ledger accounting and account reconciliations of various fund related entities
Processing of draw requests received on real estate projects and reconcile to financial records and budgets
Intercompany account balancing and monitoring
Code and process journal entries
Review of bank account reconciliations
Preparation and review of financial statements and various related reports in conformance with GAAP for internal use and lender reporting
Prepare and monitor lender debt service covenant calculations
Analyze financial information received from operating partners
Prepare audit and tax workpapers and assist with audits
Review staff?s work
Perform financial close processes
Ensure compliance with GAAP
Assist with development and documentation of accounting processes to strengthen internal controls
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, including accounting for real estate transactions and consolidations.
Knowledge of tax accounting for partnerships
Excellent organizational skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Able to work independently in a high-volume, fast paced environment.
Professional demeanor and ability to work well with others in small office environment
Advanced skills with MS Excel and accounting software (Intacct experience a plus)
Education & Experience:
BS Degree in accounting, finance or relevant
Proven experience as Senior Accountant or similar role with minimum of 5 years experience
Experience with multiple entity accounting preferred
CPA preferred
Generally, 40 to 45 hours per week, with increased hours during year end
