Accounting Assistant Job Opening in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - We are currently seeking a highly motivated accounting assistant for our accounting department for a local residential development company who owns and manages apartments in the East End of Pittsburgh. Starting salary is $13.75 per hour. 40 hour work week which will include some weekend work. The ideal candidate is someone that has outstanding accounting, mathematical and analytical skills that can work in a fast paced environment.
Qualifications:
Must have at least an Associate?s Degree in Accounting or Finance or 2 plus years of experience as a
Must have skills and experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel; having experience using Yardi Genesis Property Management System is a plus.
Needs to be a team player, able to work with different departments in the company.
Candidate must enjoy working in fast paced environment, be organized and have enthusiastic personality.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively over the phone, via email and in person.
Previous experience in real estate is a plus, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Management. Candidate will need to understand each part which includes bill payments, mortgage payments, tax payments, rent collection, and utility payments.
Payroll reconciliation and processing. Included will be making sure employee time sheets are accurate
Help prepare weekly reports for our Management Reporting System
Will be trained to help in our Inventory Management Department which will include organizing and labeling stock items
Communicate with tenants as part of the collection process
Work on special projects related to the accounting and finance department
Work on Maintenance Timesheet Efficiency Project
