Job Summary

The Medical Director for US CHC Medical Affairs will perform two key roles. The first is building the business by planning and executing the Medical Affairs strategy for the US allergy portfolio. This role includes aligning US business needs with the Global Allergy Medical Leads; developing a key external expert network; and establishing relationships with relevant scientific organizations. The second is establishing and ensuring that the processes and governance of US CHC Medical activities are consistent and compliant with those of Sanofi Medical.

This role will work closely with CHC US and North American Medical; the CHC US and North American Regulatory Heads; and the Global Medical and Commercial Leads for allergy. This position will report to the CHC US Medical Lead and is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Role Specific Responsibilities

Medical support for promotional and non-promotional materials review

Develop and support brand initiatives by providing perspective to US CHC about changes in the medical/scientific environment and competitive activity

Represent the US CHC organization at relevant medical meetings, conferences, advisory boards, and interactions with both thought leaders and external organizations

Assess US CHC medical and scientific processes to determine consistency with Sanofi Medical operating procedures

Work with US CHC functions to ensure appropriate Medical representation and involvement in relevant medical, clinical, and scientific activities that align with established Sanofi processes

Exemplify medical professionalism in strict accordance to corporate SOPs/guidelines

Travel is estimated at =30%

Align US clinical/scientific needs with the Global Medical and Commercial Allergy Leads

Enable the business to develop portfolio and innovation priorities by cultivating relationships with key healthcare professional and scientific advocacy organizations to obtain expert insights

Facilitate initiation of clinical research projects to enable business priorities that drive product acceptance among consumers and healthcare professionals

In anticipation of any product launch or new claim introduction, provide medical support, education and guidance to commercial, marketing, and sales teams

Qualifications

Education : M.D. or M.D, Ph.D. degree from an accredited college.

Experience: At least 4 years of experience in the industry or clinical practice/academic setting. Prior clinical research experience is helpful. Previous experience in a Consumer Healthcare organization is an advantage.

Professional Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to work with and effectively support cross-functional teams. High proficiency in public speaking and written communication.

Role Specific Competencies : Board in Internal Medicine or Allergy/Immunology is desirable but not required. Thinking strategically. Acting for change: driving innovation, challenging the status quo. Leading in a matrix organization.

Special Requirements: Position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Chattem?s corporate office. Travel is estimated at 30%.
