Warehouse Supervisor Job Opening in Pelham, Alabama - The Supervisor oversees all warehouse operations while directly supervising warehouse, production, and shipping/receiving personnel.
Essential job functions for the Supervisor are as follows:
- Makes sure that merchandise is received and stored in an efficient and economical manner and maintains required records in conformance with company policy
- Assumes responsibility for proper routing, loading and preparing orders for shipment and delivery in accordance with customer instructions and company procedures.
- Directly supervises all activity in outbound shipments and receiving of merchandise at the dock or receiving areas.
- Maintains all supplies supporting warehouse responsibilities
- May specify and recommend truck purchases, lifts, hoists, shelving and other warehouse equipment.
- Assumes primary responsibility for safety, security and maintenance of warehouse facility and equipment.
- Oversees and participates in inventory count.
- Keeps all equipment in good working order.
- Performs the duties inherent in all supervisory positions.
- Focus on continual improvement of the warehouse process
Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent required; college level preferred.
One to three years experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a store or warehouse setting in a supervisory capacity required.
Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software programs along with maintaining accurate record keeping procedures.
Ability to understand and provide accurate and timely resolutions to department and personnel problems that may arise.
Strong analytical ability required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are moderately complex.
Ability to operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts and dollies.
Ability to obtain working knowledge and work within Enterprise software to efficiently complete warehouse tasks.
Ability to motivate employees and build team values.
Ability to be a self starter with strong leadership skills.
