Director of Finance Job Opening in Madison, Wisconsin - Position Summary : The position acts as a strategic partner, is responsible for leading and directing the fiscal function and is a business consultant to the leadership of Perkins Oil. Through understanding the business fiscally and operationally, this position will provide consultative input for current and future growth of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Participate as a strategic partner and adviser.
Evaluate and advise on the impact of short and long term planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
Implement and ensure adherence to policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of POC.
Provide technical financial advice and knowledge as a consultant throughout the organization.
Continuous review and improvement of the budgeting process through education of assistant coaches on financial issues impacting budgets.
Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers and pension funds and investments.
Oversee projection process and reporting mechanisms including minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
Effectively identify and impact change as needed for the growth and optimization of the organization.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree and CPA or CMA required with 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MBA preferred
Demonstrated effective leadership and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet time constraints
Prior experience using enterprise systems, Sage software preffered
Demonstrated ability to operate at strategic level and complete tactical items
Prior experience with oversite of I/T function
Experience implementing an IS system upgrade
Advanced proficiencies with Microsoft office and accounting software programs
Demonstrated forward thinking and implement change
Participation in professional development associations and continued education programs
