Senior Accountant Job Opening in Longwood, Florida - Job Description
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Accounting
Primary Objective of Position:
Assist with all accounting functions, train new accounting personnel and coordinate with onsite staff and corporate office.
Essential Functions:
Process management fees and rebills (10%)
Create and post individual community invoices and process payments
Month-end duties (25%)
Reconcile all assigned bank accounts
Leads month-end closing responsibilities including completion of monthly accruals;
Prepares analysis and reconciliations for Cost of Goods Sold and various expense accounts;
Responsible for maintenance of corporate credit cards and preparing monthly statements;
Assists in the external audit process, including preparation of audit work papers;
Assists in the preparation of monthly internal and external financial reports.
Assists in cash flow analysis; including preparation of cash flow workbook and Deficit funding requests.
Email all Boards with website or pdfs
Homeowner Packet updates (25%)
Update non-standard information for new community packets
Process community home resales (10%)
Other accounting duties (30%)
Handle overflow calls to assist homeowners and vendors
Create and file 1099 returns annually
Maintain and update community CPA annual audit information
Update non-standard information for new community packets
Non-Essential Functions:
Keep the Controller/CAM promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other Company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Participate in task forces and committees as required.
Attend Company sponsored functions
Knowledge and Skills:
Education: High School diploma acceptable. Two years post high school education preferred.
Experience: One to two full years of employment in related position.
Skills and Abilities:
Requires knowledge of accounting and hospitality/HOA profession.
Requires ability to make decisions and determine a course of action.
Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to professionally represent the partnership to clients.
Must work well in stressful and high-pressure environment.
Must maintain composure while being confronted by homeowners.

Physical Job Requirements ? for essential functions only:
Limited lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying is required to move boxes - approximately 1% of essential job function.
Limited bending and kneeling is required when arranging supplies or equipment ? approximately 1% of essential job function.
Mobility needed to move about the complex between offices approximately 2% of the time.
Work environment: 100% of time is spent indoors.
Hearing is critical to communicating by telephone and assisting homeowners.
Vision is critical to completing the numerous administrative responsibilities.
Speech is critical to communicating with homeowners, employees, and clients.
Written homeowner communication and administrative responsibilities require excellent reading and writing abilities 100% of the workday.
Must be able to work at least 40 hours each week or as needed.
