Java Developer Job Opening in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania - The Software Engineer II position will participate in design, coding, implementation, and support of mission-critical, enterprise applications. The position will be working with small to mid-sized teams in a fast paced environment.
Significant Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Developing highly interactive applications that are easy to use and appealing to the eye, while paying attention to detail
Translating functional and user requirements into mock-up GUI screens and reviews them with the end-user
Perform unit testing to ensure quality
Implementation of Architecture/Design
Implement modifications to existing applications in order to meet the clients? updated requirements
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to multi-task
Contribute to the growth of team through displaying professional qualities
Minimum Qualifications Required:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have appropriate education, experience, and professional registrations. Following is a list of required qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field or Associates degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience:
3-5 years of experience developing java applications in an agile software environment using Java, JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, and XML
Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Unix/Linux commands, MS windows and writing SQL Server queries
Experience with Commercial Reporting Tools (MS SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports etc.) or Open Source Reporting Tools (JODReports, XDOC, Eclipse BIRT Project, etc.)
Experience using one or more of the technologies in the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Cloudera, Storm, H-base, Flume, Zookeeper, Solr, Kafka, HornetQ) Preferred
Knowledgeable on graph databases (RDF, SPARQL) Preferred
Experience with Web Services, preferably RESTful Web Services
Experience with RDBMS such as SqlServer, Oracle, or Access
Experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming
