PHP Web Developer Job Opening in Flushing, New york - Responsibilities:
Build and maintain a variety of high-traffic WordPress sites
Develop effective, maintainable code in a timely fashion
Write and maintain custom plugins and themes
Follow established coding standards and techniques, assist with establishing standards
Work closely with outside development/design agencies to complete projects
Make sure the website functions properly for SEO and SEM as well as the proper display of data
Provide user friendly site administration, documentation, and guidance to content contributors
Provide guidance and recommendations with Wordpress Core, plugins, theme updates and bug fixes
Assist in the configuration of websites using the various administrative toolsets
Troubleshoot issues with existing supported sites
Assist in the conversion of designs to WordPress templates
Utilize design patterns that comply with security policies and guidelines
Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field required
2+ years of software development experience required
2+ years of experience with WordPress and PHP
Front-end skills - HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, Other Javascript libraries
Back-end skills - Experience building custom themes, plugins, widgets, WordPress filters, WordPress hooks and etc.
Version Control (GitHub, Subversion, etc.)
Experience working with APIs
Strong communication and writing skills
Strong organization skills to manage multiple projects, timelines, and complete tasks quickly
