Nutrition Specialist Job Opening in Tacoma, Washington - Job Announcement
Position: Nutrition Specialist
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruits licensed and soon to be licensed childcare providers to participate in the program
Trains new participants on nutrition requirements, policies and procedures
Monitors and provides technical assistance for program compliance
Maintain working knowledge of any changes or updates to program requirements from OSPI, FNS and USDA Nutrition food program
Schedules monitoring to ensure visits are staggered yet completed within program requirements
Reviews participating childcare homes 30 day menus to ensure compliance with USDA requirements
Reviews packet of participating childcare homes to ensure accuracy, completion and acquired State license
Process monthly reimbursement for participating childcare homes
Prepares records for monitoring
Maintains accurate, timely, and complete records and reports
Participates and prepares for annual Nutrition training to participants
Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years of experience in business, accounting, nutrition, or early childhood education; or AA degree with emphasis on business, accounting, business mathematics or nutrition.
The incumbent must have a valid/current Washington State Driver?s License or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
The incumbent must pass a criminal history background check which may include fingerprinting.
The incumbent must provide and maintain on file a copy of current health care required documents i.e., First Aid and CPR card, HIV/AIDS and Blood Borne Pathogen training, Negative TB Results or Chest X ray within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
Due to the nature of this job the incumbent must have reliable personal transportation.
