Director of Radiation Services Job Opening in Huntsville, Alabama - The Director of Radiation Services is an executive position responsible for the administrative, financial, strategic, and technical direction of the Clinical Team ensuring its high quality and cost-effective operations. Key functions include strategic planning in support of program development and implementation, quality assurance, patient safety, regulatory and compliance oversight, technology assessment, and acquisition. The Director of Radiation Services will ensure quality and efficient services are designed to meet the needs of the patients, physicians and staff.
The Director of Radiation Services will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with the executive team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and lead the Nursing and Radiation Therapy Departments which includes daily operations, personnel management, patient care procedures, resource planning and budgeting.
Establish a strong relationship with the Medical Director to ensure a collaborative partnership with the physicians and the clinical team.
Serve as a resource to the leadership team throughout the entire organization, fostering effective team development that ensures an integrated approach to providing services and fulfilling goals and objectives.
Determine the fiscal requirements of assigned departments. Review all budgetary recommendations (capital and operating): Monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds.
Evaluate Nursing and Radiation Therapy teams? effectiveness. Recommend performance management and organization strategies that empower top performance. Ensure compliance with regulations and funding guidelines.
Develop, recommend and implement change in administrative and clinical policies and procedures. Ensure that the standards and codes regulating the quality assurance of healthcare set forth by the various accreditation boards and regulatory agencies are maintained so that the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction are met.
Qualifications
Education
Master?s Degree in Hospital or Business Administration or related field with a minimum of three years of relatable experience; or Bachelor?s Degree with minimum five years of relatable experience.
Experience
Seven years? clinical healthcare experience, preferably in Radiation Oncology.
Five years? experience at the administrative leadership level within operational areas. Extensive and progressive leadership experience as a senior level patient care manager. Demonstrated success of working with multiple physicians in a busy clinical environment.
Strong operational skills and the ability to execute a strategy. Prior experience which includes a balance of strategic program development combined with operational improvement.
Ability to effectively manage team members; motivating top performance by setting and maintaining high standards, demonstrating accountability, initiating performance improvement, and developing a strong team that is able to succeed in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
Knowledge of principles and practices of healthcare administration with experience in the use of performance improvement tools and techniques to improve patient care and operational processes. A fundamental understanding of healthcare risk management. Prefer direct experience in Radiation Oncology services.
