Senior Business Analyst - MS Dynamics AX Job Opening in ARLINGTON, Virginia - The Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) team is responsible for the success of their customer business units (Accounting, Finance, Distribution, and others) in putting software systems to use in support of their business goals. To that end, the EBS organization designs, develops, implements, integrates, maintains and supports financial and other software systems - both commercial and custom built - supporting the company mission. The Senior Business Analyst is adept at matching business requirements to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) functionality and addressing gaps through process and/or software changes. Through continuous communication with all levels of the organization, the Senior Business Analyst documents and analyzes processes and works with business sponsors to devise technical solutions. The Senior Business Analyst understands business processes and leverages technology to optimize them.



Responsibilities



Establish a strong, positive relationship with staff in the appropriate business units.

Develop an understanding of how the business works from a process standpoint and how it uses the financial and related business systems. Act as a champion in the identification, development and implementation of best practices across the organization.

Support the day-to-day activities of the business units by troubleshooting business system issues that are escalated beyond the departmental subject matter experts.

Conduct and participate in planning and prioritization meetings with business representatives. Develop a prioritized list of project work including software modifications, report requests, and other business system-related development work to reflect the priorities of the organization.

Serve as a liaison between functional staff and both internal and external technical staff to recommend, develop, and test program modifications, or introduce new functionality to the business community.

Create or assist writing process documentation and standard work documents. Update these documents to reflect new and improved process changes implemented in ERP.

Create functional requirements as an input to application design.

Develop and test detailed functional designs for business solution components and prototypes.

Supervise application build, test, and deploy activities.

Effectively manage projects and programs, exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and implementation of process, technology, strategy, and organizational change.



Required



Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as business or technology.

Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional in Business Analysis (PBI) preferred.

3 years ERP implementation experience, either Microsoft Dynamics AX or other ERP products (i.e. SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft)

Experience in requirements gathering process for IT systems.

Experience in data migration.

Experience with MSSQL server, SSRS is a plus.

Experience with reporting, queries and business intelligence.

Experience with technical solution description and documentation.

Demonstrated knowledge in system upgrades, integrations, configurations, customizations and support.

Strong, broad knowledge of functional business areas such as accounting, purchasing, planning, inventory, sales and customer service.

Working knowledge of at least one software development methodology preferred.

Working knowledge of Microsoft platform skills preferred.

Ability to lead people, teams and projects.
