Registered Nurse (RN): School Based 1-to-1 Care Job Opening in North Kingstown, Rhode island - Are you are an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Rhode Island looking for a FRESH START? If the answer is YES, we can help! Cell Staff is a Nationwide Healthcare Staffing Firm who has partnered with a local School District near Coventry, RI to help them find amazing RN's. The position is for 1-to-1 care or group care for medically fragile students with special education needs.
Schedule:
5 Hours per day, Monday through Thursday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Averages 18-24 hours per week, but additional hours may be available, up to 40 hours per week
Setting:
School Based Registered Nurse (RN)
Work environment could include but is not limited to the school bus, school building, school grounds, occasional school field trips, and district-authorized out-of-district placements.

Minimum Qualifications:
Fully Licensed in Rhode Island as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Highly Preferred)
Strong communication skills
Ability to observe, record, and interpret students' non-verbal communication, including facial expressions, oral sounds, gestures, and body language to identify concerns
Focus of Work:
Seeking consistent, reliable services to our student(s) for one-on-one or group personalized care. Work under the direction of our School Nurse Teacher and Cell Staff to support the safe and healthy participation of one student or a group of students with significant and specific health care needs as designated in care plan and doctors' orders; ongoing monitoring of student status; logging of all care provided; clear communication skills; experience with respiration support and gastronomy tube feeding; RN will perform a variety of physical care and clerical duties relating to student health care needs
Job Description:
Implements specialized health care procedures, including but not limited to oral suctioning; gastronomy tube feeding; chest percussion; postural drainage; manual manipulation of bags; diabetes management.
Positions medically fragile students
Operates and maintains various mechanical apparatus used for students as necessary.
Adjusts specialized wheelchairs, lifts, braces, walkers, standers, and other orthopedic devices and students in same.
Assists district staff as needed to safely support child with personal care of changing clothing, putting on garments, using restroom facilities, setting up trays, and positioning child for full participation in classroom and school activities.
Rides with student on district school bus, assists in loading and unloading of students from buses, and in the transferring of student to and from school activities.
Verifies that all procedures are provided under specified written provisions ordered by a licensed physician and the district, and requested by parent/guardian.
Responds to medical emergencies and provides first aid to assigned student.
Reports adverse medical conditions of student through coordination and consultation from School Nurse, Teacher, and agency supervising the registered RN, LPN, or CNA.
Logs interactions with students for School Nurse Teachers' and agency's Registered Nurse's review.
Participates in training as requested.
Acknowledges that all records of are the property of the School District and will provide said records on demand.
