Material Planner/Buyer Job Opening in York, South carolina - Responsible for day-to-day effective rebuying and planning of indirect material (MRO). Accountable for material flow, Kanban controls, and support process improvements activity. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, highly organized, a sense of urgency, excellent problem solving skills, communication, and teamwork skills. Success will be measured through tracked results in the areas of, On Time Delivery, inventory turns, and supplier performance related measures. Will perform some administrative work related to cycle count program and reporting.
Responsibilities ?
Buying (Release/reorder) of indirect (MRO) materials.
Supports level-loading (heijunka) plan and all material kitting processes defined for the cells in his/her responsibility.
Inventory management activities including Kanban management, card resizing, material presentation at the cell; assures inventory accuracy by proper inventory transactions and periodic cycle counts.
Support 95% on-time delivery to customer request dates.
Ensures high quality products from suppliers.
Supports Accounting Department with payments and invoice discrepancies in his / her areas of responsibility. Also ensure compliance with company DPO goals.
Work with Sourcing team to improve and develop the supply chain in conjunction with our strategic goals.
Skills and Experience-
Bachelors Degree
3-5 years of production planning or materials management.
Microsoft office skill (excel, Powerpoint, word) a must.
Minimum of 2 years of planning, MRO, and/or purchasing experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proactive: bias for action - sense of urgency
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
