We currently have the following positions open in the business office at our Golden Valley location:
Insurance Claims Representative ? reviews and submits all unpaid and denied provider claims; posts payment and contract adjustments from various payers according to contract reimbursement agreements; follows up on incorrect claim payments and/or payer requests, or questions to ensure maximum reimbursement. May perform other business office functions, as needed, such as patient pre-registration activities.
Patient Account Representative ? places outbound calls to collect receivables and resolves outstanding balances. Initiates placement of accounts with outside collection agencies; ensures bankruptcy procedures are followed according to government guidelines; and processes workers compensation interventions. Assists patient care coordinators in scheduling appointments for patients with bad debt. May perform other business office functions, as needed, such as patient pre-registration activities.
Qualifications: we seek candidates who are patient-centered and have excellent customer service skills. Must have a minimum of a high school education (or GED equivalent), with additional medical administrative coursework preferred. Knowledge of insurance and explanation of benefits required, and must be proficient with electronic practice management system.
For both positions, the ideal candidate will have more than one year of medical office experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting. Customer service experience working directly with the patients relating to their insurance and financial obligations highly desired. Must be detail-oriented and experienced in handling multiple and changing priorities in a fast paced environment. For the Patient Account Representative position, previous collections experience in a medical office environment is strongly preferred.
