The position is a key role in the construction and startup of a new emulsion polymerization facility, Job Responsibilities Include: ?Providing full time daily field construction supervision and coordination between several contractors (mechanical, civil, electrical, and instrumentation and control), making sure that on-site activities meet required specifications. ?Evaluating designs in the field to insure conformity, and where improvements are possible, managing change to provide optimum results. Monitoring construction quality to ensure all work performed by contractors are in compliance with code requirements, contract requirements, and good construction practices. ?Documenting site activities daily, managing notations, and updating of as-built drawings, and ensuring the constructability and operability for all phases of the project. ?Planning contractor workflow and scheduling of contractors. Monitoring logistics, both domestic and foreign, to ensure all orders are placed correctly, and shipments are timely and delivered and stored properly on-site. ?Ensuring quality and safety of work and making sure the project proceeds in conformance with budget, schedule, and contract terms and conditions. ?Managing on-site safe work practices and orientations. ?Supervising mechanical & electrical start-work, inspection, and check-out activities. Criteria & Qualifications: ?Ten years of industrial construction management experience is required. ?Sound knowledge of construction safety practices. ?Demonstrated ability to control technical, schedule, and cost aspects of a construction project. ?Working knowledge of construction contracts, insurance issues, permitting issues, site work, concrete foundations, setting of vessels equipment, structural steel, utilities, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls. ?Thorough understanding of construction drawings as well as piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). ?Experience directing construction activities in a chemical plant and/or a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline would be beneficial.
