JOB TITLE: Engineer

Job Description: We have an immediate opportunity to fill a permanent position for an experienced web developer. This position is to join a senior development team in a deadline intensive environment that produces and maintains rich, cutting edge web applications for the vacation industry.
Responsibilities include: Gathering requirements, analyzing scope, estimating work effort, squashing bugs and delivering features. Candidates must possess experience with MVC, C#, SQL Server and CouchDB. Candidates should be familiar with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
The position requires autonomous self-starters who can quickly assess the challenges a partner has run into ? determine if it is a bug, feature or enhancement request ? and provide the appropriate follow-through. This person will have to be able to build/test and work within existing system boundaries as well as create new functionality. A candidate for this position will need to be strong technically, have superior problem solving and communication skills.
Candidates must possess the ability to quickly and effectively determine the best solutions to complex problems.
Responsibilities :
Support the existing business critical systems in a timely fashion
Build front-end, back-end API?s and databases using various programming and scripting languages.
Create written design documentation
Work closely with product management to implement product features
Ensure the production software is scalable, stable and secure.
Take defects from reported to release through all phases of development: Design, Code, Test and production support.
Collaborate with QA to ensure quality of deliverables
Qualifications
Must possess strong problem-solving skills, and have the ability to learn quickly and apply new ideas.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must possess good communication and analytical skills.
Experience in both back-end and front-end technologies, and familiarity with each layer of the software stack.
Experience with Microsoft development using Visual Studio, Framework, C#, VB Script, , SQL Server, and PowerShell to produce complete solutions.
Experience with web oriented concepts and technologies: HTML, AngularJS, AJAX, REST APIs.
Understanding of distributed development and object-oriented programming techniques.
Knowledge of development in an Agile or Scrum environment as an active team member.
Experience:
3+ years of experience as a web developer ? using C# and VB Script
2+ years SQL Server development (T-SQL)
1+ year of Active Server Page development utilizing VB Script (Classic ASP)
Recent experience with Agile development methodologies
Recent experience with MVC and various JavaScript frameworks
Working knowledge of Visual Studio and Source Code Management
Strong time management and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to understand and interpret existing site design and style guides to inform your work
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet stretch goals
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar is preferred, will consider an Associates degree with applicable experience. Non-degree holder should possess more than 5 years of progressive experience and applicable technical based certifications.
Microsoft or other technically applicable certification highly desired.
