Director, Business Development and Sales Job Opening in Wellesley, Massachusetts - SCREENING FOR MENTAL HEALTH, INC. (SMH), the leading national, non-profit organization devoted to suicide prevention and mental health screening and education, is seeking a Director of Business Development & Sales. SMH is a technology savvy, not for profit enterprise that is an innovator and leader among national mental health organizations, providing mental health and substance abuse resources and linking those in need to quality treatment options. The company has been in existence for 27 years, founded by Douglas Jacobs MD, a psychiatrist who is a leader in the field of suicide prevention and a vocal advocate for treating mental health on equal footing with physical health.

We are seeking a proven business development leader with experience building and leading successful sales teams. The individual will engage partner clients using a consultative sales approach to offer tailored solutions for their needs. This individual will provide the vision and leadership necessary to develop a successful sales operations strategy, integrate internal teams, determine priority segments and devise a collaborative plan driving profitable revenue growth.
This newly created position reports to the CEO and will work collaboratively with the Directors of Partnerships and New Programs, Marketing, Clinical Program Development and Signs of Suicide Program Development to promote our programs nationally.
Key responsibilities include:
Recruit, hire, coach and develop a successful sales team
Develop and implement strategies to identify and close prospects for existing program offerings
Conduct outreach to existing partner clients and cross-sell additional program offerings
Problem solve and offer innovative solutions to partner clients
Leverage field time to better understand the partner client, learn and assess market trends, and provide input to internal stakeholders to improve program effectiveness
Work collaboratively with marketing and program development teams to help shape new program development
Sells programs ethically and in compliance with the company?s sales process, marketing strategy, and legal compliance
Maintain and update including accounts, contact demographics, and opportunities to support pipeline management and accurate forecasting.
Some travel is required in this position.
Qualifications:
Proven sales management experience in pharmaceutical or consumer brands sales
Excellent prospect and relationship building skills
Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding the dynamics of the healthcare Industry a plus
Detail oriented with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
Results-oriented, self-reliant, creative and highly resourceful in proposing new ideas/approaches and finding solutions that work
Proficiency in
Bachelor?s degree in business, marketing, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education 6-8 years professional experience in sales with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed goals as well as leading a team to success
