Accountant I Job Opening in Cleveland, Ohio - The Accountant I is responsible for conducting accounting operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for any accounting entities or special projects conducted by a non-profit housing agency. This position works closely with all departments within the agency as well as our partners to ensure compliance with all programs and audit requirements.
Assists management in preparation, examination, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and to ensure compliance with GAAP, A-133 audit, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, federal, state, and local reporting guidelines.
Analyzes and reviews budgets monthly; comparing budgeted costs to actual costs to provide an explanation for any material variances.
Analyzes and reviews all general ledger accounts to assist in analysis of financial statements
Assists in preparation of monthly financial statement reports for assigned grants and properties and presents them to management. Meets all deadlines.
Requirements:
An Associates? Degree with a minimum of 3 years? experience; or a Bachelor?s Degree with 1 year experience.
