IT Manager Job Opening in Kalamazoo, Michigan - Summary Assists the Director of Information Technology to maintain and administer the computing environment within the organization. Ensures the technical infrastructure and related procedures adhere to organizational values. Directly manages employees in the Information Technology Department including installation, maintenance, and training as assigned by the Director of IT. Cross-training is essential in the IT department in order to meet the needs of the organization. This position is accountable for ensuring continuity of computer services for computer users throughout the organization through planning, hands on network administration, technical management, and project coordination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides support to the Director of IT with budgeting, strategic and tactical planning, business process alignment, and software applications strategy. Manages and coordinates plans for infrastructure development and operations, hardware and software purchases.
Coordinates, implements, and monitors information systems and security policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
Perform assigned management responsibilities associated with the IT department including employee related issues.
Provides support to the Director of IT and organizational management to analyze technology needs for information and functional operations, to determine scope and priorities of projects, and to monitor infrastructure capacity and equipment inventories.
Maintains an effective system of communications throughout the organization.
Provides support to the Director of IT in negotiating service level agreements with both internal and external customers and service providers, and monitors service delivery to ensure the agreed goals are met and standards maintained as set forth by the Director of IT and Executive Management.
Provides support to end users in the usage and maintenance of software programs and hardware.
Provides hands on technical support when required.
Provides hands on technical support for the Card Access system and video surveillance system.
Project manager for technology projects, responsibilities include managing project tasks and risks; keeping the project on schedule and within budget, scheduling events and communicating updates to project stakeholders.
Manages and performs hands on network/system administration, including but not limited to, network switches, firewalls, servers, VOIP phone system, infrastructure updates and scheduling, patch management, backup, storage, and data archive.
Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology may review, investigate, and defend any attacks on the network including administration over employee bandwidth usage to ensure optimal network performance.
Assists in the daily review of the network for inappropriate internal network usage and outside intrusions.
Ensure virus protection is up to date and install critical security patches for all Windows operating systems across the enterprise.
Monitor and configure network firewalls and web filters in accordance with Family Health Center policies as assigned by the Director of IT.
Provide a daily security report to the Director of IT.
Stay current on security technologies and recommend security methodologies.
Performs technology needs analysis as assigned by the Director of IT.
Assists and/or delegates reviews of computer event logs and peripheral equipment, malfunction, and maintenance to determine impact, and address problems.
Supports the Director of IT in developing, maintaining, and testing disaster recovery plans.
Present a professional image as a representative of the organization.
Other duties as assigned.
Management Responsibilities
Directly manages employees in the Information Technology Department as assigned by the Director of IT. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include managing and training employees; planning, assigning, and managing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Must be proficient in the Microsoft Active Directory Software Stack.
Prefer three years of working knowledge with the Cisco networking fabric.
Must have excellent knowledge of Internet Protocols;
Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be effective independently.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service.
Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and third party vendors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Prefer the following certifications: MCSE, CCNA, and A+.
Other Qualifications
Must possess a valid driver?s license and have transportation to travel to various sites and Mobile Units to support the organizations systems and provide end-user support.
Education and/or Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management is required. . The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of proven and progressive experience including 3 years in managerial positions. Experience working within healthcare field is a plus.
