Who you are: The DevOps Engineer will drive and evangelize the configuration management activities across the entire R&D organization providing best practices and ensuring our source control and builds are running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Will apply extensive configuration management, continuous integration / delivery techniques, standards, principals, theories and concepts throughout the organization.
Recognized as a configuration management, continuous integration expert within the department and organization
Provides configuration management and continuous integration technical solutions to complex problems that require creativity and dedication.
Exercises considerable latitude to determine technical objectives of assignment; completed work is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long term perspective.
Responsible for ensuring that assignments are delivered on schedule and in accordance with ZOLL quality standard.
Guides the successful completion of all aspects of major programs and may function in a project leadership role
Represents the organization as the technical contact on projects related to configuration management and continuous integration for large scale software products.
Contribute in definition of and enforce patterns, best practices and strategies for source control structure and branching
Contribute in definition of and enforce patterns for local developer environments to ensure consistency across all products and into production builds
Define, promote, and maintain configuration management best practices across the ZOLL organization and product lines
Collaboratively participate with team members
Qualifications:
Proven success in a professional engineering team in a DevOps Engineer role.
Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or strong understanding of those principles.
2 years of software development experience or a degree in computer science with demonstrable ability to code in Python, Go, Node JS or other common languages.
2 years experience with Automation and Orchestration tools, Service Discover and machine data analytics for real time monitoring environments.
2 years experience with Linux based systems.
Strong understanding and implementation of continuous integration and continuous deployment solutions.
Proven experience in generation of configuration management related documentation ie: Configuration management plan, Environment documentation.
Strong business acumen ? able to understand the business problems that our technology is created to solve.
Proven ability of leading and implementing configuration best practices at a project, program and organizational level.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding dependencies and how to implement the best possible solution to ensure that there is end to end traceability and repeatability in configuration management and development operations.
Highly motivated team member capable of working in team and individual environments.
Have experience with continuous integration tools such as TeamCity or Jenkins.
Have experience with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Docker etc.
Capable of debating ideas and opinions with team members to arrive at an agreed-upon solutions
