With manufacturing locations in Grand Junction, Colorado and Fairmont, West Virginia, Schauenburg provides custom products throughout the continental USA and beyond.
Schauenburg's Fairmont, WV location is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team. Schauenburg Flexadux has built a reputation of providing the highest level of customer service and we seek out employees that share this philosophy and excel at providing it.
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for a variety of duties in support of programs and overall business (commodities).
Responsibilities:
Manage the procurement activities at the plant level relative to the sourcing of raw materials, goods and services by utilizing the team concept with cross functional plant personnel.
Understanding of overall materials flow and other functions linked to the Supply Chain
Initiate and implement vendor evaluation system to continuously monitor performance.
Institute corrective actions when necessary and provide feedback regarding vendor performance.
Price negotiation, price analysis, supplier selection
Manage RFP/RFQ process and obtain competitive quotes from vendors, including special machinery and controls
Manage Outside Service Vendor relationships.
Find alternate sources and vendors for critical processes
Participate with plant management team to formulate and execute strategies to maximize cost savings; lead in the evaluation of supplier reliability, and maintenance of service quality.T
rain plant personnel on procurement guidelines and strategy to improve understanding of purchasing function among plant staff.
Develop storeroom personnel know-how to acquire more professionalism and upgrade in skill level requirements in anticipation of future organizational demands.
Maintain a safe working environment in and around the work area.
Requirements :
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Economics, Materials or related field
Experience in Process excellence and Supply Chain within Manufacturing
Certification in Supply Chain Management, CPM, CPSM or APICS a plus
Skills :
Global operations experience (sourcing, forecasting, purchasing, production, operations, technical)
Ability to read and understand blueprints / drawings and bill of material
Ability to understanding the manufacturing processes
Strong systems knowledge and proficiency and attention to details
Strong work ethic and ethical standards
Extensive knowledge of inventory management concept
Models and supports organization?s goals and values; adapts to changing conditions, demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles
