Duties / Essential Functions:
Lead strategy, roadmap, and development of eCommerce applications that support our brands
Write clean, scalable code that makes internal and external customers happy
Build applications from scratch, and design and develop custom modules for Magento, WordPress, and other frameworks
Help manage IT Ops: server architecture, site uptime and speed, code versioning and releases, etc
Debate tabs vs. spaces (just making sure you are reading all this)
Lead team of in-house and contract developers and front-end engineers
Work with other departments to ensure all systems run like a well-oiled top
Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
3-5 years' experience in both front-end and back-end Software Development using LAMP
3-5 years' experience developing standards-based XHTML/CSS
BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
Experience managing LAMP stack ()
Experience extending or customizing products or frameworks such as Drupal, Magento, WordPress, Apache Solr
Experience in cross-platform development using PHP, Java, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, jQuery, Bootstrap, , and other JS frameworks
Must have an understanding of MVC for web applications.
Familiarity with SOAP, REST, and other APIs.
Experience with version control such as SVN or Git
Experience working with MySQL databases including writing direct queries.
Magento and Zend Certifications preferred.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Active participant in SCUBA or watersports desirable
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extensive periods of time.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to bend and squat.
Must be able to access all areas of our retail stores.
