Systems Engineering & Integration L2 - 47901 (I-14-B02) Job Opening in Chantilly, Virginia - Description: The Secure Operations Group (SOG) systems engineer is part of the Security Engineering & Integration team working closely with the SOG project lead to support the government customer and provide project oversight, evaluate security risk, and system integration; ensuring compliance with IC, DoD, and Federal policies and standards. This work includes developing deliverables and documenting the planning, and reference policies. Additionally the SOG systems engineer supports the customer by providing assessments of threats and vulnerabilities, identification of deviations from acceptable configurations or policy, assessing the level of risk, and developing and/or recommending appropriate mitigation countermeasures. The candidate will also provide customer support and engineering for information system transition and migration projects. The SOG systems engineer provides support to the Project Lead that is responsible for identification of additional support opportunities to the customer, including; project plan and schedule development, definition of project scope and objectives, identification of and engagement with all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
The candidate will be expected to demonstrate technical competency in one or more of the following areas that include, but are not limited to:
IC and DoD policy and procedures
Enterprise Audit
Cyber-security systems and technologies
Network architecture
Identity and Access Management
Public Key Infrastructure
Cloud Architecture and Security
System and Assessment and Authorization
Risk Management
The candidate should be capable of preparing documentation and briefing technical security topics to senior program leadership and senior government managers, and with multi-tasking and handling short-turnaround suspense items. Candidate must also be able to work collaboratively within a team comprised of senior, mid-level and junior level system engineers to foster sharing of expertise and a learning environment.
Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor?s degree in systems engineering or related science or engineering field
1+ years of development or administration of security appliances, network equipment or secure operating systems
Knowledge one or more security engineering areas, specifically associated with identity management, risk management, authentication and authorization; secure communications, data marking/labeling, access and releasability; secure storage, secure communications, auditing and policy management and enforcement; network and security within cloud-based environments; cross domain/controlled interface solutions
Excellent customer relationship and presentation skills
Demonstrated teamwork capabilities
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a technical field
Demonstrated experience in working highly visible, major government project engineering and integration activities
Experience in strategic and technical planning
Experience associated with IC agencies and the DoD
Experience developing and implementation planning of complex systems or enterprises
Professional certification with commensurate experience. Safe Agilist or ITIL certification a plus.
Working knowledge of the NSG and NGA Acquisition Processes
Knowledge of and certification in agile engineering
Demonstrated operational experience with intelligence systems
Knowledge and experience with security engineering policies and procedures supporting the ICD 503 process, the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) Instruction No. 1253, and the NIST 800-37 Risk Management Framework
Experience associated with security engineering, systems development and systems integration
