Quality Assurance Engineer Job Opening in Burlington, Massachusetts - Ovitas is seeking analytical manual and/or automated quality assurance engineers of our internal and customer facing projects. The ideal candidates are bright, self-motivated, banner wavers of software quality who have superior analytical and problem solving skills. Successful candidates will be key contributors, working closely with developers and other team members in a fast-paced environment.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Design, develop, and execute detail oriented test scripts and test cases using test plans and project specifications.
Develop Testing Strategies to integrate with existing projects
Evangelizing Software Quality as a cross team contributor
Report defects found in testing diligently, promptly, and accurately, using standard defect tracking tools
Communicate with development, project management, and customer stakeholders where necessary
Perform both new functionality and regression tests; identify, analyze and report issues for follow-up
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Two or more years of software testing experience in a professional software development environment
Proficiency in testing web-based applications
At least 1 year experience in one or more testing frameworks
At least 1 year experience in bug tracking tools
Proficiency with SQL, preferably in PostgreSQL and/or Oracle
Familiarity with basic Linux commands and operations
Strong ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues across multiple integrated applications
Willingness to learn
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Two or more years of software testing experience in a professional software development environment
One or more years of Java Unit Test development
Experience with JavaScript Unit Test development
Proficiency with Selenium
Experience with J2EE application servers, e.g. JBoss, Weblogic, Tomcat
