Adams currently has an opening for a Controller. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the individual we are seeking must be a seasoned accounting professional with a proven track record of success. In addition to a strong accounting and financial background, the successful candidate must have significant prior experience in a distribution and light manufacturing environment using a fully integrated ERP system. The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to change with the dynamic needs of the organization.
Major Responsibilities
Responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and internal controls as well as responsibility for general ledger, cost accounting, accounts receivable and credit establishment, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
Responsible for all state, local and federal tax filings.
Must have a high level of proficiency with ERP concepts and applications in a multi-company, multi-state environment.
Ensure standard financial reports and metrics packages are prepared accurately and are distributed on a timely basis.
Review financial results including revenue and expense trends with management team and make recommendations for corrective action to mitigate variances from plan.
Provide periodic projections for various financial and/or operational components such as cost and price increases.
Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Gather and analyze information skillfully and develop alternative solutions, as appropriate.
Develop annual strategic and financial business plans in collaboration with other members of the management team.
Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
Qualifications
Must be able to think strategically and act decisively.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively at all levels, both internal and external.
Must have a high degree of integrity and enthusiasm.
Must be completely proficient with all MS Office software applications.
Education and Experience
BS in accounting, CPA desirable.
10 + years of experience in general accounting, including a minimum of 5 years in a distribution/light manufacturing environment, CPA desirable.
At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
