Accounting Assistant I - ENTRY LEVEL POSITION Job Opening in Houston, Texas - PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION, preferred candidate is High School Graduate and currently enrolled in college/university.
The position indicated is tasked with minimizing accounts receivable and assisting with accounts payable functions. The role is tasked with providing data/information to increase efficiency and assist manager in completing objectives and strategies. Ensure timely and accurate processing of client invoice. Respond to internal/external client inquiries and perform accounting related research. Effectively communicate with Clients to increase collections while maintaining outstanding Client goodwill. Perform quality control and share observations as constructive feedback. Interact with all functions in Houston to minimize Client questions and errors and maximize collections.
Responsible for collections and reduction of Client accounts receivable.
Developing work strategies, providing data to support process improvements, learn and become back-up for all work functions in the team
Responsible for quality and collections of all invoice types (FC, BK, LIT, EV, etc.)
Daily process New Invoice and iClear bridges to transmit invoices from DART to client systems.
Work with teammates to effectively attach all required billing backup.
Manually create invoices in client systems as required.
Communicate with Clients to collect delinquent invoices; maximize client goodwill.
Manually generate and transmit invoices to clients who do not use New Invoice or iClear.
Perform quality control as invoices are submitted. Ensure fee approval has been received where required.
Responsible for answering client systems regarding invoice resolutions, invoice adjustments, and invoice denials.
Prepare responses to client inquiries regarding billing issues. Ensure accurate billing. Correct issues and re-bill as needed.
Daily run denied invoice reports and perform analysis to determine reasons for denials. Prepare responses / rebuttals, obtain fee approvals and re-bill as appropriate. Submit invoices for write-off approval if appropriate.
Actively participate in process improvement and productivity projects. Must have the ability to communicate with other departments in an effort to maximize billing efficiency.
Assist reinstatement group with daily workload as a back-up if needed.
Assist with Accounts Payable functions (GL reconciliation, Master Card Report, Expenses, etc)
Other duties as assigned by accounting lead, Director of Non-Legal Affairs, and/or Managing AttorneyJob Location:
