Staff Accountant Job Opening in Plano, Texas - Purpose of Position
The Staff Accountant is responsible for reporting financial performance. This includes, performing various accounting and banking functions, and providing financial expertise to others in the company.
Essential Functions:
Review accounting data for accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Heavy Reconciliation experience to General Ledger accounts to detail
Responsible for month-end closing duties
Determine required general ledger entries
Maintain daily/monthly AR Reports.
Prepare financial statements for management review
Identify/Manage daily bank transfers between accounts.
Analyze financial performance and take ownership of financial reporting responsibilities by identifying and explaining factors that drive results
Provide support for an annual budgeting process including data aggregation, expenditure analysis and schedule preparation
Seek out ways to improve financial processes. Demonstrate a desire to improve quality, speed and efficiency.
Participate in meetings where it will be necessary to explain financial concepts or issues, provide progress reports and receive instructions
Prepare work papers and provide information that support the annual financial audit and internal audits
Intercompany transactions and reporting
Ad hoc projects
Qualifications:
Advanced skill level in Excel, desirable experience in SAP
Analytical and technical research skills
Must possess basic mathematic skills and have the ability to analyze figures
Must have knowledge of accounting principles
Must have excellent verbal and written skills
Must be able to multi-task, establish priorities and organize efficiently
Strong organization, communication, customer service, presentation, and PC skills
Ability to meet deadlines while multi-tasking
Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
Positive attitude with desire to build strong relationships with clients and co-workers
Highly motivated individual
Required Skills:
2 years of Accounting experience (accounting operations and/or audit)
Heavy reconciliation experience
SAP experience desired but not required
Education:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting
