Financial Reporting Manager Job Opening in Portsmouth, New hampshire - Summary
This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller and also has significant visibility to the Corporate Controller and CFO. This high visibility position will have as a key component, reporting to and interface with executive management as well.
Monthly financial reporting and annual plans for consolidated companies to include support analyses and reforecasts
Conversion and reconciliation of US GAAP financial reporting
Working under the direction of the Assistant Controller and Corporate Controller, assisting with financial reporting, analysis of performance and contributing to the development and improvement of internal controls inside a rapidly growing firm which has expanded its product lines, business units and cost centers
Contribution during audit season to the interim and annual audit
Special projects ? analyses and projects with select business unit or product line managers to assess performance variances and opportunities vs plan

Responsibilities Under direction of the Assistant Controller, will contribute to specific aspects of the US GAAP financial reporting process and financial statements including the month-end close process.
To achieve the above, this position will:
This position will leverage experience as a CPA and analytical talent to be a key interface while utilizing that experience base in technical accounting and finance to contribute internally to the firm?s objectives to develop internal control processes which reflect Sarbanes ? Oxley guidelines even though the firm is privately owned vs public. Additionally, though the firm has developed a honed closing, analysis and reporting process engaging several members of finance to facilitate, this role will be a key member of that group contributing to analytical insights in advance of month end reporting as well as assessment post-close. The position will have one direct report at the onset which this position will develop and mentor.
Prepare select journal entries and account reconciliations
Convert the US data into parent company reporting format and prepare reporting package according to the company reporting template
Under guidance of the CFO and Corporate Controller, serve as a resource for specific analyses as required from time to time.
Work with the Director of Finance, Planning and Analysis in converting annual plan and periodic reforecasts to Oracle G/L reporting (US GAAP).
Develop and implement enhanced internal controls over financial reporting. Conduct and oversee testing of periodic internal audit testing
Assure validity of trial balance, supporting schedules and critical analyses
Assist in development of key reporting schedules to lenders, including reporting actual and forecasted covenants
Be a key player in helping develop monthly reporting to include improvements in monthly analysis and process
Develop specific analyses used by business and functional mangers to help drive performance improvement in respective businesses and cost centers*

Education / Experience Requirements
A bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance. Master?s degree preferred.
Requirements
Must be a CPA with 4-5+ years Big 4 experience. Prefer some industry experience and overall 8 to 10 years working experience.
Manufacturing industry experience with a medium to large, multi-business unit company
Experience with month-end closes and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
Strong communication skills ? verbal and written
Oracle experience a plus
Strong team player who can work across multiple functions and disciplines and lead by example.
Experience in a matrixed organization preferable.
