Piscataqua Savings Bank is looking for an energetic individual to join our team in the Loan Department as a Loan Department Assistant. The Loan Department Assistant will perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks related to loan servicing and customer service assistance in the Loan Department as assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the VP/Senior Loan Officer.
Description
The Loan Department Assistant supports Loan Officers and Loan Department team members with documentation and customer assistance during the application process and the additional records necessary following approval of a home mortgage loan. The Loan Department Assistant is responsible for the following additional essential duties:
Processing of loan payments and payoffs.
Answer customer inquiries and explain PSB policies in a tactful, effective and professional manner both in person and on the telephone.
Daily update of interest rates and emailing information to correspondent lenders along with conducting weekly rate survey.
Monthly and weekly review and/or preparation of reports including, but not limited to New Notes, and General Ledger balancing, etc.
Assist Loan Servicing Specialist/Loan Processing Coordinator with loan file maintenance as well as all tax escrow and homeowners' insurance record-keeping including setting up new escrow accounts with third party vendor, all escrow disbursements consisting of taxes, homeowners' insurance, flood insurance and private mortgage insurance in addition to annual escrow analysis.
Requirements
Two years of banking experience or other related accounting experience is required for this position. The work tasks specific to PSB loan processes and procedures can be learned during training while working.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel software is required for readiness in learning advanced skills needed in this position.
