Job overview
The Corporate Sales Manager reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing. This position's primary responsibility is to identify, qualify, and secure contracts from parties for meeting space and guest rooms associated with Corporate Transient and Corporate Group through various sales techniques, practices and other means acceptable to the hotel management including, without limitation, maintaining regular, in-person contact with all existing and potential accounts in the market segments assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing. Sales Manager will also search the internet and use other research tools to identify potential new business for the hotel and make prospecting calls based on the results of that research
Duties and responsibilities :
This position is responsible for the following:
Uncovering, soliciting, prospecting and booking of new business
Conducting solicitation calls, outside calls and site inspections
Qualify potential business, develop proposals and prepare contracts accurately.
Responsible for accurate and detailed reporting of business booked
Consistent follow up with clients.
Work closely with Director of Sales and Marketing to ensure the contractual agreements are accurate commensurate with clients needs.
Develop action plans for the assigned territory and market to capture the maximum amount of revenue
Meet/exceed sales goals.
Develop and enhance relationships with key business clients to maintain and increase market share.
Attend various community and industry networking functions to promote hotel and generate sales leads.
Maintain accurate records to ensure current and future quality service
Thrive in a fast paced, team oriented and sales driven office environment
Exercise hotel policies and procedures in accordance with the duties above
Research competition and assess general market conditions
Ensure effective utilization of selling guidelines to maximize revenue contribution from all segments.
Compiles and manages a confidential database with trace dates and account information
Education and Experience
College Degree (BS/BA) preferred
Prefer sales experience in the hospitality industry
Delphi experience a plus
Must have experience working with one or more of the following market segments: Corporate Transient or Corporate Group
Must have leadership qualities
Ability to multi-task; work well under pressure
Must be able to work flexible and extended hours
Must be able to travel overnight as needed
Must have valid driver's license
Must be able to organize time effectively
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
General computer skill set to include Microsoft Office, Power Point & Excel
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Command of the English language, both written and verbal
Physical Requirements
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
Able to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time/frequently in order to interact with clients and staff both inside and outside of hotel
