Assistant Controller Job Opening in Southfield, Michigan - Due to the firms growth, our client, a growing, global, manufacturing firm, located in Oakland County, is looking to hire an assistant corporate controller. If you are hired for this assistant corporate controller role, you will report to their CAO/VP of accounting and be responsible for: Helping to lead their monthly, quarterly, and annual close process and supporting their external audits; Have direct management of corporate accounting functions as well as parting with their financial teams in foreign locations; Oversee 9 plants from a reporting process as well as reviewing their internal controls, cost accounting procedures and development; Assist with the continued development of corporate accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP and SOX; Prepare ad hoc analysis for senior and executive management; Reviewing transactions for joint ventures; Assist with SEC Reporting; Other Duties as assigned. For consideration candidates will need 8 plus years of experience and the following experiences: five or more years of accounting management experience including consolidations, leading monthly, quarterly and year-end close for a large firm, possess a good understanding of SEC/External reporting including technical accounting matters, possess excellent leadership and management skills, work well with a global and diverse team, and be comfortable traveling to their operational facilities on a quarterly basis.
