Accounting Internship Job Opening in Portage, Michigan - AVB is currently seeking an Accounting Intern for Residential Construction .
The Accounting Intern assists the Sr. Estimator in preparing cost estimates and change orders.
Requirements:
Some knowledge of residential construction and estimating processes helpful
Planning and scheduling skills
Understanding of project forecasting and projections
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Project
Ability to meet aggressive deadlines with accuracy
Responsibilities:
Assist in preparation of cost estimates and change orders
Updates yearly and maintains an estimating notebook with updated unit costs for all Trade Contractors
Assist in issuing Purchase Orders to all appropriate vendors and Trade Contractors
Assist in responding to Trade Contractors regarding scope of Work and Specifications
Assists the Sr. Estimator with the bidding phase of the contracting processes
Assist in the request of any applicable sketches, drawings, or other descriptive information from the Architect as needed to properly explain required details on the working drawings
Provides general administrative support including data entry, preparation of miscellaneous reports, filling and copying
Other duties assigned
Part time during the school year and full time during the summer.
