Data Entry Tech (DRC) Job Opening in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Job Summary
Under limited supervision, the DRC Data Entry Tech performs a variety of activities in support of a specific unit. Gathers, collects, records, tracks and verifies data and information from multiple sources and systems. Uses Veterans Administration (VA) software programs (e.g., ERB, ERRA, VBMS, CAATs) to perform essential activities associated to Decision Read Claim (DRC) submission. Provides data and information to others on functional unit processes and procedures. Delivers exceptional customer service at all customer touch points.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Answer customer phone calls from and automated call distribution system
Triage daily DRC referrals and ensure appropriate VA systems are accessed in order to move referrals through to vendors in a timely manner
Determine appropriate medical examinations, tests, or specialists required for each case
Ensure all vendors receive necessary DRC documentation in order to process the claim
Confirm vendor consultative reports and diagnostic test results are received in a timely manner per performance guidelines
Meet or exceed contract timeliness guidelines in both entrance and turnaround time of DRC claims
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Working knowledge of medical coding and terminology
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced work environment
Strong computer skills at an intermediate level
Good follow through skills
Work well in a team oriented environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills with ability to critically evaluate and resolve problems
Strong data entry skills with high level of accuracy
Must possess the ability and flexibility to work early morning, evening, and/or weekend shifts
Education and/or Experience: ( includes certificate & licenses )
High School diploma, or equivalent (GED)
2 to 4 years of related experience, preferably in healthcare
Experience with electronic medical scheduling and case management software
Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation
