PROGRAMMER ANALYST Job Opening in Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Responsible for working closely with Functional Departments and project team members to understand business requirements for business needs. Participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (e.g. Waterfall and Lean Agile), for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting applications software and interfaces delivered as a part of support or projects. Technical Consulting is a part of day to day operations and projects on various programming techniques and solutions. Provides solution design and product evaluations along with buy vs. build recommendations. Design and develop functional specifications, produces deliverables related to the project(s) assigned and assists in post implementation support and system enhancements. Responsible for selecting appropriate C.A.S.E. tools to develop systems and software. This role will primarily provide day to day software maintenance and support, data conversion, data mapping, systems integration of existing software solutions and interfaces along programming support for new projects.
The Programmer Analyst must have a strong IT and technical background with desired prior transit experience and knowledge of transit technologies. It is preferred that the Programmer Analyst is able to provide or possess the following:
a. Excellent communication, technical, and analytical skills to facilitate in the design, coding, and testing of software solutions and integration projects.
b. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience developing software.
c. Requires 2 to 4 years of systems analysis and programming experience.
d. Develops systems solutions requiring analysis and research. Works on small to large complex projects that require programming and integration skills. Works on one or more projects as a programmer or sometimes as a technical programmer lead.
e. Three years of NET Framework, Visual Basic, C+, PUSOL, Java, and C# development experience (combination of at least two).
f. Experience working with SQL, ETL, and/or Oracle Databases.
g. Proficient with using MS XP, Windows 7, and MS Office Suite.
h. Three years of experience in Designing, Coding, Unit Testing, and implementing software development solutions with vendor products.
i. Experience with complex Object-Oriented Methodologies and Client/Server System architectures. j. Advanced experience in troubleshooting and debugging.
k. Two years of experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports.
l. Knowledge of and the ability to integrate enterprise level commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) application software products into existing or new BCT Software Solutions.
m. This position requires Advanced Sequel Query Language (SQL) experience, syntax knowledge, an understanding of Oracle, and SQL Server Relational Database environments.
n. Timely data entry and tracking of all work requests utilizing a BMC ticket tracking system
o. The person seeking this position should have proven research, analytical, and programming experience in the disciplines of framework, PL/SQL, Java, Java Scripting, C++, or Visual Basic.
p. System Administration skills in a UNIX environment are a plus.
