Credentialing Specialist Job Opening in Columbus, Wisconsin - Columbus Community Hospital is a 25 bed acute care hospital located in Columbus, Wisconsin, just 20 minutes north of Madison, Wisconsin. This position coordinates the credential verification process for CCH Medical Staff. Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in HIM or health care related field preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is required. Hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 8 days per two week pay period and does allow for some flexibility.
Job Description:
Plans, organizes and coordinates the credential verification process for new applicants, provisional reviews, and reappointments to the CCH Medical Staff. Attends Credentialing Committee and Peer Review Committee meetings as appropriate. Prepares agendas and minutes and completes follow-up action items as directed by the committee. Assists in drafting policies and developing processes related to credentialing and peer review, in accordance with The Joint Commission standards and federal and state regulations. Maintain thorough knowledge of the Medical Staff Bylaws and The Joint Commission Medical Staff standards. Coordinates the Peer Review process. Actively works at maintaining a good rapport and working relationship with all members of the medical staff. Prepares and distributes the physician call schedule on a monthly basis. Distributes notices of physician vacations on a timely basis.
Preferred Skills:
High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
Associate Degree or Bachelor?s Degree in HIM, or heath related field preferred.
Previous experience working in a healthcare office setting required.
Intermediate word processing proficiency required.
