THE POSITION:
We?re looking for a full-time staff accountant who would enjoy working for a company that makes a difference in the geriatric population?s lives in communities across the nation. Some of the responsibilities include the following:
Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, credit card statements, expense accruals, and prepaid expenses, making journal entries as needed.
Record revenue, cash receipts, and receivable adjustments in the reporting system, ensuring that revenue and receivables balance between the AR and reporting systems.
Reconcile intercompany accounts monthly by company and dimension.
Review coding of employee credit card charges and expenses making corrections as needed.
Process accounts payable payments including payments made through online bill pay.
Process the monthly ACH draft for the insurance companies.
Assist with financial audit requests and any other audits that may arise.
Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual statutory financial statements to be filed with the NAIC.
THE LOCATION:
The Staff Accountant position will be located at our Overland Park, KS office.
The work will be performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.

REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or relevant experience
2-3 years of accounting or related experience
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Quality control/Attention to detail?the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.
High level of trust
Microsoft Excel ? intermediate level ? able to write moderately complex formulas and analyze manipulate large amounts of data.
Optional ? BONUS SKILL ? Experience with FinancialForce and Intacct accounting platforms
Optional ? BONUS SKILL ? Understanding of NAIC statutory accounting principles.
