Staff Accountant Job Opening in Columbia, Maryland - Bay Bank, FSB has an opening for an experienced Staff Accountant in our Columbia office. Job Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analyzing managerial and regulatory reports, and for assisting with budgeting and variance analysis.
The Staff Accountant will maintain the fixed asset records and prepare the monthly depreciation entries.
The Staff Accountant will process the general ledger cycles daily, monthly and annually; will post entries; will reconcile the accounts; and will ensure the timely completion of all general ledger reconcilements.
Other duties of the Staff Accountant include supporting the Accounts Payable function and performing all other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
Candidates must have good organizational skills and be able to manage multiple priorities; be skilled in working with numbers and protecting confidential information; be detail oriented and analytical.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must be flexible and able to accept changes in assignments and processes.
An Accounting degree or two (2) years of practical experience in an accounting department is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required, including an advanced level of experience with Excel tables and pivot table functions.
A basic working knowledge of general ledger software is required.
