Bridge Academy is a free, open admission public charter school for the students and families of Baton Rouge. We opened in August 2015 with 75 kindergarten students. Each year, we will add a grade level until we serve students in grades K?8.

Job Description: Baton Rouge Bridge Academy is seeking a strategic and passionate Founding Director of Operations to set the vision for and manage day-to-day operations at our start-up school. The Founding Director of Operations will be primarily responsible for all matters of school administration that do not directly relate to academics or student behavior, but are essential to effectively operate the school.
We believe that effective management of a school ensuring a smooth flow of logistics enables teachers to deliver instruction students need to make big academic gains. Seamless operational systems are what set the foundation for a rigorous learning environment. When teachers and students have what they need when they need it, students are able to reach and exceed their academic potential. The Founding Director of Operations will prepare the school for its launch year, manage the day-to-day school financial operations, and administer crucial data systems. In traditional schools, these tasks can dominate the time of teachers and school leaders, taking critical time away from the ultimate goal of student achievement. Reports to/works collaboratively with the School Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
School Operations
Manage all daily school logistics and office functions to ensure efficiency and maximum level of student learning and customer service.
Prepare the campus for start-up/new school year by ordering furniture, equipment, and classroom supplies as well as ensuring that school services (i.e. student food services, student transportation services) are lined up and ready for action.
Work cooperatively with back-office service providers and manage members of Operation Team.
Coordinate student recruitment efforts to ensure enrollment targets are met and families are engaged from the start.
Prepare and distribute all necessary student/family in coordination with the School Director. Follow up with families to ensure 100% completion of student files/paperwork.
Manage communication with transportation services, ensuring appropriate routes, timeliness and troubleshooting of issues with school or individual riders.
Manage third party service contracts, ensuring ongoing monitoring and implementation of contracts.
Plan School Safety program implementation and assist in training, administering and recording drills, etc.
Make certain that the facilities are kept clean, well maintained, and safe.
Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition; address issues by following established procedures for trouble shooting and problem solving.
Provide oversight of the planning and execution of school special events, such as Family University Programming, field lessons, Report Card Conferences, and graduation.
Responsible for maintaining necessary documents and files to ensure school compliance with all state and federal reporting requirements.
Responsible for maintaining accurate data on school staff, students, and master schedule.
Responsible for greeting visitors and responding to inquiries about the school.
Budgeting & Finance
Assist school leadership in maintaining accurate financial and grant records.
Manage purchase requisition and purchase order process, ensure that accountant pays all bills on time within established budgets and using correct accounting codes (working closely with ).
Review daily cash & checks income, ensure accounts and funds are correctly aligned, count all checks and cash for deposits, make deposits according to guidelines set forth by auditors.
Inventory and capital assets tracking and reporting.
Human Capital
Collect and keep personnel records (i.e. New Hire Documents )
Support in orienting and preparing employee transitions.
Issue employee keys, equipment, network account/passwords, etc. according to procedure.
Skills and Characteristics
Demonstrated passion for and commitment to Bridge Academy?s mission and organizational success.
Acute attention to detail coupled with the ability to think and act strategically.
Results-driven business leader with experience in, and commitment to, operational excellence and the use of data and assessments to drive operational and financial decisions.
Experience working in nonprofit management, facilities management, or school operations management (preferred).
Ambition and desire to grow as a leader.
Openness to feedback, a willingness to take personal responsibility for the affairs of the school, and the ability to learn from mistakes.
Excellent technical and persuasive writer.
Personal and professional integrity.
Technological proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access, QuickBooks, and other financial management and HR software.
Personal qualities of maturity, humility, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and a roll-up-my-sleeves attitude.
Education
Bachelor?s degree required.
MBA preferred
