Job Description
We are looking for an Outside Industrial Sales Representative to help us expand our territory from Yakima, WA southwest to the Willamette Valley.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of an Outside Industrial Sales Representative.
Meet or exceed budgeted sales and gross margin goals monthly and YTD.
Prepare sales plans for key accounts and targeted prospects.
Meet or exceed customer expectations.
Understand Horizon Distribution?s service abilities and product offering.
Maintain constant and clear communication with Sales Manager on suggestions for process improvement and new opportunities
Make joint sales calls with manufacturer sales reps to grow new and existing accounts.
Maintain a regular call schedule.
Plan your sales calls and reasons for the sales call.
Penetrate existing accounts by constantly looking for new solutions.
Developing multiple contacts in your accounts.
Strive to be a value-added sales person by always looking for ways to save the customer both time and money.
Document cost savings and report to the customer.
Be willing to help elsewhere in company, when necessary.
Assist on contracts, bids and other large quote opportunities.
Display consistent ?can-do,? positive attitude. Strive to constantly improve.
Qualifications
Must have two or more years as an outside sales representative. Industry related experience is desirable but not required.
Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, personable, well organized, and work well independently and with other team members.
Proficient working with MS Office, email and researching online.
Must have ability to develop prospects.
Some college education or equivalent.
Willingness and flexibility to travel overnight for one or two nights a week.
