Payroll Specialist Job Opening in Bend, Oregon - Position Description: The Payroll Specialist is tasked with managing, maintaining and ensuring the timely and accurate recognition of the payroll process. This position also has primary responsibility for the management and reconciliation of physical cash banks resortwide. Provides professional and flexible customer service to internal and external partners for accurate and timely recognition and reports. Must thrive within a fast paced environment and have a desire for continuous learning and process improvement.
General Responsibilities:
Reviews employee paperwork for completeness and accuracy, responsible for employee payroll records from new hire through record retention.
Review and ensure accuracy of timekeeping records, communicating discrepancies to management.
Process payroll, including updating employee deductions, hours, garnishments, benefits and vacation, etc.
Process manual checks as needed during off cycle periods.
Assist with HRIS maintenance (e.g., pay rate, title, status, department changes, etc).
Respond to requests for employment verification.
Cash Management/Other Daily collection and reconciliation of cash drops.
Manages replenishment and preparation of cash banks resortwide.
Preparation and accountability of physical cash deposits.
Daily processing of remote desktop deposits.
Manages the billing of HOA water fees.
Professionally interacts with internal customers while keeping the company's culture and initiatives at the forefront of actions and decisions.
Pursues opportunities for process improvements, including automating manual processes. Interacts in a collaborative manner with internal departments and teams.
Works with and maintains confidential information in a manner that protects the company and leads by example.
May assist with other duties or projects as assigned.

Must be highly motivated and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
An understanding of database concepts and reporting.
Ability to create, read and analyze reports, processes and documents.
Strong work ethic and initiative is a must.
Experience:
Minimum of two years' experience related payroll work experience with general understanding of computerized billing software and general accounting functions.
Working knowledge of GNSA/PeoplePro and/or Intacct accounting software preferred.
Strong investigative experience in account reconciliations.
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Excel for creation, generation, and analysis of reports, an intermediate level understanding is preferred.
Strong computer skills and literacy; Microsoft Office, etc.
Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
Education:
2 to 4 year degree in accounting, finance or related subject or equivalent training and experience.
